Cardiologists and Vascular Medicine SpecialistsOur board-certified and highly experienced cardiologists provide comprehensive heart and vascular care for heart conditions, from prevention and screening, to advanced heart imaging technology and minimally-invasive heart surgery. Cardiologists are complemented by intensivists, specialty care nurses, and other medical specialists provide personalized care to cardiac patients.
Eugenia Miller, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in cardiovascular medicine, and cardiac defibrillator and pacemaker implantation. Dr. Miller earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed her fellowship in cardiology at Los Angeles County and University of Southern California (LAC+USC) Medical Center. She is also trained in nuclear medicine procedures and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Miller is board certified in cardiovascular disease and has been practicing medicine since 1977.
Dr. Miller lives in Durango with her husband and enjoys commuting to and from work on her road bike.
Alexander E. Fraley, M.D., is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, vascular and endovascular medicine. Dr. Fraley specializes in using minimally invasive interventional techniques to diagnose and treat diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels.
Dr. Fraley attended medical school at the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his cardiovascular research and fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. He completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan followed by an advanced endovascular training as the inaugural cardiology fellow in an innovative program sponsored by the Vascular Interventional Advances (VIVA) physicians group and the Fogarty Institute of Innovation in Mountain View, California. The program is dedicated to advancing the field of vascular medicine through collaboration among interventional cardiologists, vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists.
Susie Kim, M.D., is a board-certified interventional cardiologist who specializes in interventional cardiology and vascular medicine with a focus on radial approach procedures. Dr. Kim earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Integrated Program. She completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular intervention at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Kim is board certified in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology and has practiced medicine since 1999.
Dr. Kim has lived in Durango since December 2013, and enjoys many outdoor activities, including snowboarding, hiking, horseback riding and scuba diving.
Frank Torres, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in interventional cardiovascular medicine and preventive cardiology. Dr. Torres earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed his fellowship in cardiology at Stanford University Hospital, as well as additional fellowships at UCSF, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Torres has practiced medicine since 1989.

Sheena Carswell, CNS, is a board-certified clinical nurse specialist who specializes in disease management services for cardiovascular and diabetes patients. Ms. Carswell earned her master of science in nursing degree from University of Texas at Austin and is board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) from the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She has been providing cardiology services since 1998.
Ms. Carswell has lived in Durango since 2000 with her children and is an avid runner and cyclist.
