Western Employee Assistance Services provides employers with various services that enhance wellness in the workplace. Studies have shown that employees who have access to counseling and other employee assistance services are more productive and less likely to miss work or leave a job altogether. This results in cost savings to employers and higher employee job satisfaction.

Counseling Services for Employees
Western Employee Assistance Services provides short-term, solution-focused counseling to employees and their families. The employer-paid services are provided as an employee benefit at no cost to the employee. WEAS counselors maintain client confidentiality at all times. Clinicians may refer clients to other resources in the community if they determine longer-term therapy is needed.
Typical problems addressed in counseling include marriage and relationship problems, emotional issues, stress-related problems, family issues, and drug and alcohol problems.
Other Services Available to Employers
- Consultations and supervisor referrals for troubled employees
- Communication and conflict management coaching for managers and supervisors
- Training on topics including sexual harassment, violence in the workplace, and stress management
- Substance abuse evaluations (meet Department of Transportation standards)
Skilled Staff
The Western Employee Assistance Services clinicians are masters-level, professional counselors who are licensed by the state of Colorado. They are experienced in individual and couples therapy, as well as training managers and others in supervisory positions.

The Western Employee Assistance Services office is located in the Mercy Medical Plaza, Suite 248, next to Mercy Regional Medical Center at 1010 Three Springs Blvd in Durango, CO.

Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m..
Clinicians are available on call after hours.
