Acupuncture now available at Mercy Regional Medical Center
Mercy Regional Medical Center will begin offering acupuncture to patients in the hospital and to walk-in patients beginning November 1, 2006. Acupuncture services will be provided by Mary Ellen Albright, a registered nurse and state-licensed acupuncturist. Albright earned her Master's degree in acupuncture at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Md., and received additional training in China and England. She is also board-certified in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has reports that acupuncture may be effective treatment for headaches; myofascial pain; osteoarthritis; post-operative nausea; fibromyalgia; chemotherapy nausea; and addiction. For more information about Mercy's acupuncture program, including fees, or to schedule an appointment, please call (970) 769-7989
