Joseph Pedley Joins Mercy Regional Medical Center as Chief Financial Officer

Durango, Colo. — Joseph Pedley, CPA, recently was named chief financial officer at Mercy Regional Medical Center. Prior to joining Mercy, Pedley spent 16 years at Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) health care system, Mercy’s parent organization. In his most recent role at CHI, Pedley was the director of financial implementations for a national enterprise resource planning system.

“Joe is an accomplished financial executive who brings demonstrated success in all areas of healthcare financial management,” said Kirk Dignum, Mercy’s CEO. “His many years of experience with Catholic Health Initiatives—including serving as Mercy’s interim financial officer several years ago—will help him get up to speed very quickly.”

Pedley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska. He was one of less than ten percent of candidates to pass all parts of the Uniform CPA Examination on the first attempt and is licensed in Colorado as a Certified Public Accountant.

“I look forward to joining the Mercy team, and we’re very happy to make Durango our new home,” Pedley said. He and his wife Vicki are the parents of two grown children.

Pedley replaces George Sprinkel, who recently resigned to relocate his family to Sarasota, Florida, where he will work as a hospital administrator.
