  • Adult Diabetes Management

Mercy Regional Medical Center provides disease management services for adult patients with diabetes in Southwest Colorado. Adult diabetes management services are offered to primary care and cardiology patients, as well as to any one identified as having prediabetes. Services are offered at Mercy Family Medicine: Adult Primary Care (formerly Health Services Clinic) in downtown Durango, and Mercy Family Medicine and Mercy Cardiology Associates, located in the medical office building at Mercy Regional Medical Center's main campus.

    Adult Diabetes Management
Our skilled providers offer individual and group visits focused on diabetes. They provide tailored medical management of diabetes medication, as well as education on diet, exercise and prevention of complications. Our skilled staff work closely with referring providers who continue to provide overall primary care management of their referred diabetes patients.

    Prediabetes Management
People diagnosed with prediabetes are at a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  Effectively managing prediabetes can help prevent diabetes.

Free Prediabetes Class: Anyone identified as having prediabetes is invited to attend a free class, in which attendees will learn how to manage prediabetes and help prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. Classes are held the first Friday of each month, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in suite 140 of the medical office building at Mercy Regional Medical Center. For more information, or to register, contact Jan Wesley at (970) 764-2720.
