Porter Cancer Care Center Installs New Cancer-Fighting Technology

New Radiation Therapy Technology Provides Faster, More Precise Cancer Treatment

DENVER — Starting June 2013, the Porter Cancer Care Center at Porter Adventist Hospital becomes one of the few facilities in the country to offer highly advanced radiation therapy and radiosurgery cancer treatment options using the new Varian TrueBeam image-guided radiotherapy system.

In the field of oncology and cancer care, radiation therapy is often used a primary treatment or in combination with surgery and chemotherapy to treat various forms of cancer.  With the new TrueBeam radiotherapy technology, the Porter Cancer Care Center will be able to provide faster, more precise and completely incision-less cancer treatments to patients throughout the Denver area.

“This new technology is sure to benefit our patients and make cancer treatments easier and more effective,” said Dr. Seth Reiner, a radiation oncologist at Porter Adventist Hospital, “It is exciting to be able to offer new types of advanced radiation therapy to people in our community.”

The Porter Cancer Care Center is a full-service, comprehensive cancer treatment facility that provides radiation therapy, surgical oncology, chemotherapy, patient navigation, oncology nutrition, genetic counseling and a host of other cancer related services.  To learn more about all of the cancer care resources and services offered at Porter Adventist Hospital, visit
