Mercy Regional Medical Center was recognized by The Joint Commission for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions. Mercy Regional Medical Center is one of 1,099 hospitals in the U.S. earning the distinction of Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance. Mercy was recognized for its achievement on the following measure sets: heart attack; pneumonia; and surgical care.

    Mercy Regional Medical Center has received the "A" grade from The Leapfrog Group in both 2012 and 2013. The Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Score program grades hospitals on their overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. The grades are derived from expert analysis of publicly available data using 26 evidence-based, national measures of hospital safety.

    Mercy Regional Medical Center also received the Hospital Website Transparency Award from URAC and The Leapfrog Group for 2012 and 2013. The award identifies outstanding hospital websites that promote transparency of safety and quality measures in a manner that is useful and user-friendly for consumers.
