Integrated Physical Therapy joins Mercy Regional Medical Center

    April 2,2014

As part of the acquisition, Junttonen and clinic co-owners Phil Rambo and Doug Houle, also physical therapists, became hospital employees, along with 15 other IPT staff members.  The clinic currently employs a total of eight physical therapists who have over 125 years of combined physical therapy experience.

“The therapists and staff at IPT have an excellent reputation in the community.  They are very good at rehabilitative care and helping people of all ages return to their favorite sports, work, and other activities of daily life,” said Mercy Regional Medical Center CEO Tom Gessel.  “Their services complement many other services we provide to the community.”

Physical therapy is an allied health profession which utilizes comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s movement system, which may include assessment of the neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems. The main goals of treatment are to relieve and or control pain, restore and/ or improve mobility and strength and optimize function.

Integrated Physical Therapy provides sports medicine rehabilitation, manual therapy, myofascial therapy, functional rehabilitation, ergonomic and work site analysis, therapies for women's health, dry needling, and more.

In May, Mercy Integrated Physical Therapy will open a third location at the new Horse Gulch Medical Campus at 810 E. Third St., which is now under construction.  Also located on the campus will be Mercy Family Medicine, Centura Centers Occupational Medicine (CCOM), Pediatric Partners of the Southwest, and several other health care providers.

Mercy Integrated Physical Therapy will be locally managed and operated by Mercy Regional Medical Center.

The practice will continue to operate its two current Durango locations: Three Springs, 1 Mercado St., suite 201, (970) 385-0644, and 1401 N. Main Ave., suite A, (970) 247-9632.
